CONVERSION - FILM TO VIDEO TRANSFER
We have recently surfed the websites of our competitors and have noticed a common theme: "BASH THE COMPETITION"

Aggressive Media specializes in WETGATE archive-quality,
frame-by-frame, film-to-video transfer of 8mm, Super 8, and 16mm film to 62-minute SONY Excellence brand mini-DV MASTER tapes.
(If you want ONLY a VHS copy, we can do that as well. CALL.)
Our process utilizes a 750-line broadcast-quality pick-up system with three 2/3" CCD's (one each for RED, GREEN and BLUE) and broadcast-quality lenses, resulting in a superior image quality. Additionally, we activate the AUTO-IRIS feature to compensate for very dark or very bright scenes. We have dubbed this process an "enhanced" best-light transfer.

Our niche in the market is that we offer the WETGATE option and transfer directly to mini-DV MASTERS. Many do not.
FACT: RAW DV footage is 3x LESS COMPRESSED
than even the best 1-hour DVD !
There is no such thing as a DVD or VHS MASTER !!!
Telecine -
As home movies are normally shot using 18 or 24 fps framerate and the North American TV system, NTSC, uses a framerate of 29.97 fps -movie framerates need to be changed in order to get them to play smoothly on a television. Specially modified projectors and projector lamps remove the flicker, etc that is associated with do-it-yourself film transfer systems. This process, in which additional frames are added to the picture in order to increase the framerate, is called telecine.

| $.15/ft. - STANDARD - This is our most affordable transfer method. The film is projected onto a small surface using a special telecine lamp and a modified projector. This eliminates the flicker that you would see if you tried to set up a film projector and transfer it yourself. It also eliminates the vertical "hum bar" that would accompany this "do-it-yourself" transfer. Add $.05/ft for WETGATE option. |

WETGATE - A device that allows film to be projected through a chamber of liquid in order to produce a scratch and dirt free transfer or print. A scratch or mark in the film is visible because light refracts on the edges of the scratch itself. As light passes through the image using the WETGATE system, fluid fills the scratch and stops the refraction so that the imperfection is invisible, (some scratches on the emulsion side may not be removed).

$.25/ft. - "AERIAL IMAGE" - An aerial transfer is a telecine transfer in which the image is projected on a glass surface 5" in front of the film projector. The image is literally projected in "mid-air".
This is more highly recommended for 16mm film, as its larger frame size makes it appear less "grainy" to begin with. Also recommended for Super 8 film projects, i.e. film school projects, and discerning customers, etc...

Be weary of any company that claims to scan each frame individually
directly from the film for a price that is comparable to ours. The use of a Rank
Cintel flying-spot scanner is billed hourly and is generally
3 to 4 times the cost of our services...
Others will offer catchy names like Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum...
This must be the video equivalent of the BLING! (haha)
However, if they ever start a "film transfer Olympics", we will certainly have to modify our packages and pricing to compete!
